Enrollment
Sequoia Elementary School is a District School of Choice.
Beginning October 10 through November 10, 2025, the Intradistrict Transfer Application will be available for all schools, grades 1-12 and for Sequoia and Monte Gardens' elementary schools' Kindergarten.
This application is only for students living within the MDUSD boundaries who want to attend a school other than their school of residence. The transfer application links will be available on the District website starting October 10th.
Lottery will take place via Zoom December 11 from 9-9:30am. Families will be notified via US mail of the results at the end of December.
In order to align the Sequoia lottery process with the District's policies and practices as they pertain to BP/AR 5116.1 Intradistrict Open Enrollment, per the February 23, 2022, Board approved amendment to both schools' program tenets, families wishing to transfer to or be waitlisted for either school must complete an Intradistrict Transfer Application during the Oct-Nov window.
- Any students (current K-5) on the Sequoia waitlists will maintain their current spot on said waitlists. You do not need to reapply yearly.
- Students currently in grades K-4 that would like to be added to the waitlist, must complete an Intradistrict Transfer application. Sequoia Elementary will be listed as a second choice as you will be added to the existing waitlist.
- Students that have been approved to attend either school may not complete any other Transfer application for the upcoming school year.
