Fun facts about Independent Study

2025-2026 school year

~ Independent Study (IS) requests need to be filled out in the office by a parent at least two weeks before the student will be absent. 

~ Independent Study requests are permitted for as little as 1 day to a maximum of 15 school days per year.  

~ If the student’s assignments are not completed and turned in within the first 5 days that the student returns to campus after an IS, the absences will be marked as Unexcused.

~ It is at the teacher’s discretion if the work that the student turns in meets the requirements as set forth in the Independent Study contract.
